We had a night in Hyeres, which apart from a cool knights templar building proved to be pretty ordinary. The trees were nice though, all the streets were lined with tall palm trees, ala Los Angeles, but without the drive-by shootings.

The next night we scored a prime park along the sea side in La Ciotat, where we got to steal a large amount of Mb from a local motel wifi. God bless France and their liberal internet! That morning we woke to watch an army plane land and take off of the sea nearby, as well as skyping the family for the first time in months.

We arrived in a town down the coast called Cassis (like the berry) a nice harbor town surrounded by lime stone cliffs and a nice castle. We spent the morning in the town, despite the bitter cold. We even bought ourselves a frisbee by which Jena on her first throw, rolled off into the marina water. But eventually we found a water free place to toss it in front of a church before we retired back up the hill to carry on.
That afternoon we hiked up a mountain to overlook Marseille, and scored a great park on the ridge for the night.
