When we got to Cannes, we were struck with a couple of very long beaches on either side. We scored a park along the water front with the not so difficult task of walking a kilometer or so into the town.

Cannes, obviously is famous for its film festival, but more so, a place for the rich to spend up like in Rodeo Drive. Lonely Planet said "Its fun to watch the rich drop their money with such fashionable nonchalance" and we agree! The shops are crazy.

Our park had the privilege of letting us bathe in the sea, but as it turned out, because we were alongside a very long straight stretch of road, speeding cars would shake the van as they passed. This went on all night and some cars passing would wake you up as if you were being throttled by an attacker. Jena was worried we were going to die, but it looks as if the worst we got was a sleepless night.
