On the way out of Sweden we decided it highly appropriate to go and visit an authentic Swedish IKEA. We had been putting it off for the whole voyage thus far but the fear of missing out was too much.
It was one of those bitter-sweet experiences which allowed us to fantasize about furnishing our own home (or even redecorating bigwig) but was tainted by the reality that we really cannot afford anything!

Coming into Norway was interesting too, everyone at the border was lined up and stocking up on fuel, booze and cigarettes, because just over the border, everything quadruples in price. A white bearded American dude said that even a bowl of hot chips costs 16 Euro!
We went grocery shopping. Everything is un-English, therefore we look for the little pictures. Just like a cow on a carton would imply milk. WRONG. We got 2 litres of liquid yoghurt. It makes an ordinary coffee like a cup of gold! Not really.

Lately we have been making sport of waving at other campervans as we pass each other on the road. It's really exciting; the half of them that return our affection makes us feel like were some kind of elite road club. All the other snobs are considered SOBs and we hate them.

We drove right the across the great country, watching as our flat terrain (which gave us great mileage mind you) turned into mountain ranges, filled with vicious rapids and impenetrable forests. As we hit the western side, the mountains became white with frosted tops. As we explored the Dovrefjella national park we were able to get amongst the snow and melt waterfalls, but were bombarded with arctic winds and forced to retract into bigwig like a frightened hermit crab.

The wind is a little hectic here in the mountains. We’re getting buffeted again like that time in Denmark. It’s really hard to sleep with it smashing against the van.
