Our first night our in the English countryside! Such beauty and peace we felt, especially coming from the centre of London. We saw lots of beautiful birds, field mice, horses, pheasants, native rabbits, cattle, sheep and a badger (who was no longer of this world). Parked on the side of the road we set up camp for the night.
A long sleep in saw us into the next day where we headed down the road to see Bodiam Castle. It's a 13th Century castle in the middle of the countryside, with no real surrounding villages at all. It rises out of the middle of a moat with its outer wall intact and in great condition.
Upon climbing to the top of one of the towers, we look out over the car park to see that our van had rolled backwards and was now sitting in the middle of the parking lot. We were trying desperately to get away from a nice old gentleman who had decided to strike up conversation with us about his awesome you-tube videos. (JOEL: I think some of his cotton-mouth foam shot out and hit my nose.) After a painfully slow decent from the tower (following the old guy and his walking stick) Joel sprinted to save our home! The handbrake was not working.

Hand brake not working? Hmmm... I always put the car in gear when I parked so didn't have know of any problem the handbrake. The handbrake cable was replaced when we bought Scoobs, so shouldn't be that.
