We spent our last day in Christchurch to visit the famous Avon River punting in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. It was located at the historic Antiqua Boat Shed at the garden. All we had to do was sit back and enjoy the view, which had lots of ducks, beautiful landscape, giant trees, and with other park goers alongside the river banks. Besides the postcard scenery, we also witnessed the earthquake effect that hit the park. There was a bridge showing cracks signs. After the ride, we proceeded straight to the airport, as we did not as much time left, which was a shame because we heard it was one of the most beautiful botanical park in the world. I would really recommend you to visit if you have more time to explore Christchurch.

At the airport, we actually waited outside the Antartic Centre to return our campervan to the friendly operator. Again, we missed visiting the centre as it was originally in our itinerary plan.

In summary, we traveled roughly about 1150km purely on the road (not inclusive of other mode of transportation). This road trip was also one experience I really treasured because :-

1) I got to bring my parents and Mum-in-law, especially my Dad, and fullfilling his life long dreams of visiting the glaciers and Milford Sound.

2) achieving one of my world's to do list - bungy jump at Kawarau

3) and having being able to travel in all kinds of transportation in this road trip - aeroplane, van, train, campervan, helicopter, cable car, cruise-ship, old classic tram, and flat-bottomed boat.

Can't wait to return New Zealand, this time to visit the North Island.
