Both ancient and modern, congested with traffic and full of open piazzas, Rome was all that we could have dreamed it would be. We were so lucky to have a wonderful friend to stay with while we were here. Her name is Maria Risi and she helped us to feel as at home as we had since we hit the road in August.
Maria opened her apartment to us and was there there to guide us out the door every morning for a suggested adventure. She let us do our laundry and use her computer and even cooked for us. We went to all of the best gelato joints and even had a real deal home cooked meal at her parents home. Her mother Patrizia can cook! And everyone made us fell more than welcome.
We walked and walked through this city every day and hardly ever repeated a sight. The amount of history in every neighborhood is astounding. The Colosseum is even bigger than we could have thought, The Pantheon was the coolest building I have seen so far, We love Bernini, both old and new it is a very cool city.
It is by far the most expensive place we have traveled to and the retail prices make NYC look cheap. We started putting all the weight that we lost in the Greek isles back on thanks to all of the amazing food. Every day there was satisfying and beautiful- we feel so lucky.
Hope this entry finds you well and we miss you all.

HEY YOUS GUYS!
Ciao Ragatsi!
I hope you both are still having an amazing time on your trip...can't see why you wouldn't be. We didn't meet anyone else cooler than you two for the remainder of our trip....though we did meet some GORGEOUS Austrian girls in Ibiza :) Ibiza, but the way, was an incredible 3 days. We spent an insane amount of money, but the Ibiza bug has been planted in me, and I can't wait to return to that magical island.
Suit shopping in Milan was a complete bust for a multitude of reasons. But I think it was for the best, as we barely made it back with a cent in our bank accounts. We were complete bums at Mike's family's house in Porto for a week, and were stoned out of our minds in Amsterdam for a few days. We couldn't stop talking about how we missed the Mediterranean culture, countries, people, food, and evertyhing else about it. Time just seemed to stand still, and the word 'stress' didn't even exist.
Well, by now, short Mike and Scott are back in Canada where the leaves are starting to turn and that smell of fall looms in the air. I'm staying at my uncle's house in Dartford, England, about 45min east of London. My job has been put on hold for about a week or two because...well...it's politics! in the meantime, I'm bartending at a local pub, and attempting to detox my system.
I trust you both are doing well, and I look forward to reading more about your travels. If you plan on heading over to foggy London town, don't hesitate to get in touch. my house # is 01322 284454.
all the best,
Tall Mike
