I find an interesting fried pastry that
is won tons stuffed with sauteed brassica leaves. This will be my
delicious breakfast that I follow up with a new kind of coffee called
nespresso from Austrailia. This feels like a good day for adventuring
on so I leave Ubon and head to Kong Jiam. The bus that I ride has a
hole in the wooden floor below my crotch and dirty water from the
rain soaked roads shoots up through the hole and paints my legs. I
discover that my Chaco sandal can stop this from happening if I
strategically place it over the hole. Ahead on the road I see a crowd
of people and they begin dancing in the street and block the bus from
proceeding. A couple of ladies dance onto the bus, collect money
offerings and dance back off. I think it is a clever way of
performing their religious begging so I offer 20 baht. The bus rolls
on to Kong Jiam and I am one of the only people left on the bus. The
bus driver and I speak in Thai and I tell him where I am going. He
points to several karaoke bars on the way and feels obliged to tell
me that these are good places to go find women. I never found out if
he was correct.
