Today we planned to go to the World Trade Centre Site and specifically wanted to book onto the World Trade Centre Tribute Centres tour. We got up early to head down and book onto the tour. Given my back was now well and truly messed up from the inappropriate footwear and all the walking we decided to book onto the afternoon tour and use the time before to go and buy some proper shoes for walking!

So come 3pm we were wearing suitable footwear and commenced our tour! Our tour guide, Vic, had actually been in one of the towers and survived the attacks. He took us around the outside of the site and showed us the memorials. Then he took us inside to view the memorial pools. We had some tie to wander around freely and then he told us his story. It was so moving and so emotional, there were times where Vic struggled o get some of his words out recalling that day and the people he lost. I was really struggling to hold back the tears and T's making me well up just thinking back to it now! The tour was so worthwhile and I would recommend people do this. Afterwards we wanders around the pools and took a few pictures. I found it strange that people were taking pictures of themselves in couples/groups in front of the pools, it felt a bit disrespectful having some cheesy group photo in front of these memorials. The memorial site has been done beautifully and it feels so calm and peaceful inside. It was incredibly sad to see so many names, especially when we came across one for a mother and her unborn child.

Afte leaving the memorial site we decided to wander down to Wall Street and take a look around. We had planned on walking the Brooklyn Bridge at this time as it was late afternoon and we thought we could stay in Brooklyn to watch the sunset. However, we were just so knackered we felt we couldn't take much more walking. We decided on an early tea and to see how we felt afterwards. Unfortunately another disappointing meal! Throne thing I've been really disappointed with here is the food!

We were too knackered to do the bridge so decided to rad to Ties Square on the tube to see the lights at night. When we arrived we saw loads of barriers up and loads of cops. Turns out Obama was doing some charity thing in a theatre and was going to arrive here. wWe got a fab spot and began waiting. Although after about 90 mins people started to disappear, we found out he'd gone in another entrance so missed him! So decided to call it a day and head back to the hotel and pack ahead of our last day tomorrow.
