After lunch we went on a pontoon boat that Clem was co-captain on. They are part of a group called 'Heaven Can Wait' and they give boat tours for retirement homes. We tagged along with a group and it was a beautiful day to be out on the water.
Clem later took us up a mountain to see Silver Star Resort which was a bright and colourful ski resort. In the summers they have everything converted over to work with mountain bikes. There were all levels of bikers there, you can tell when kids are decked out with arm and leg shields as well as helmets that they are going on some crazy downhill runs. They had the ski-lifts working to get the riders and their bikes up to the top. We were jealous but realized that I (MA) have a ways to go in my mountain biking training before I take on a mountain. (seeing as I've only been on 1 trail before!) On the way back home Clem drove us on a scenic tour of the surrounding areas and we stopped at a VW dealer who had 4 campers parked outside. There Joe asked lots of questions about a) how the VW dealer in Calgary overfilled our oil - is that a problem? and b) the suspension on the front of the van that Joe had welded is ticking - turns out its not a big deal he can fix it in the future easily, no harm done) With that good news we headed back, had a nice supper outside and enjoyed the evening!
