Where I stayed
We flew from Siem Reap direct to KL for a brief look at Malaysia. The city itself is a fairly typical modern Asian city of concrete, tarmac and shopping malls. We were able to view the Petronas Towers (formerly the worlds tallest building) and also go up the TV Tower, which was higher than the Petronas Towers and gave us a superb night-time view of the city.
The was not much of appeal in KL during the evening so we opted to go to the cinema and saw Indiana Jones. So satisfied were we with the cinema, we also returned and saw Kung Fu Panda the following day (I would recommend both).
Outside the cinema we wandered around China Town and Little India and even visited a Bird Park, where we were set upon by some shoe-loving parrot-type things (see footage).
All in all, a good couple of days. But we had to move on so we caught a bus to a town called Melaka on Peninsular Malaysia's west coast.
