Since Andy and I left our beloved Whaley Lake home almost two years ago, I keep going
'on-line' to Google and search for interesting, eco friendly, spiritual, commune, hippy oriented, vision minded places to check out.  I have come up with a few but a surprising few.  Perhaps you all out there could help me out and send me ideas ........ thanks............

I did find, Enota.  It is a 750 acre retreat in the mountains above Lake Chatuge.  Totally gorgeous area of course!  There are 4 streams that run through the property two of which start high in the mountain and come cascading down the steeper parts creating wonderful 200 foot and 400 foot water falls!  The trails here are skinny, slippery paths going almost straight up in many spots as they wind through dense woods.  Andy and I were huffing and puffing as we climbed and pulled ourselves along using tree trunks and roots to keep ourselves from sliding back down to the stream bed.  The falls were worth it!!  Beautiful and impressive as they pounded down the rocks creating a lovely mist at their base as well as a roar so loud we could not hear each other at 10 feet apart.  Andy went in!  He turns me on!  What a Man!!  It was cold water and we have become Georgian and Florida types!!!

I had read '0n-line' that Enota uses the organic produce out of their gardens to create lovely dinners for $10.00 a plate.  I signed us up!  It was pizza night!  Lovely....loads of veggies piled high on a crispy crust with wonderful herbs and fresh everything.  Salads and loads of teas and drinks to choose from.  All wonderful....served buffet style so while in line we got to talk to the other patrons.  Places like this attract like minds and so solar and "Ormus" and reincarnation and Shamanism were only the tip of the burgh.  I felt right at home.

One of the more interesting visions Enota has in place is trout.  They have three trout ponds that are along one of their creeks.  They stock them and let visitors fish in the one by the lodge.  The hooks have no barbs and if it is of the right size (which they stock almost only the right size)  you get to keep it for $6.00.  You can take it home, cook it at your campsite or ask the kitchen to help you out.  Imagine...up on a mountain in North Georgia eating "Blue Trout".  When trout is sautee'd within minutes of being caught and cleaned, the skin turns a lovely blue!!  Only those most extreme restaurants that actually have holding ponds for their trout can serve up such a traditional dish.  How cool is that?

The garden is large and is clearly a great source of wonderful organic produce all summer long.  Now being September, it had that end of the season, picked clean, a little overgrown look.  Most of Enota is worked by volunteers who work for the benefit of staying on the grounds and meals for free and getting to join in the many retreats that are offered throughout the year. at a great discount.  Some folks get a stipend depending on your length of stay and your value to them.  I think this sounds like a terrific idea to do one day!!  Andy is less interested as gardening isn't his thing but maybe they will need someone to help install solar or build another building and he will surely enjoy doing that.

I love being around people and places with vision and a mission statement.  It just puts me at ease and at the same time gets me all juiced up.  Most of my friends are people with vision and you all know who you are.....some are building visionary homes, or rebuilding old ones into their new vision, some are creating films to express their wonder of the world, some are working with animals as they connect on a deep level, some are helping others save their souls one day at a time, others are saving rain forests or helping people in one way or another become more self sufficient ....on and on it goes with fascinating people thinking in fascinating ways.  I love to be part of that sense of vision and excitement.

We have connection so I will send this out before losing battery power!!!!
