September 29th '08

Much tired out from our real estate searches on Campbell Cove Lake and the Tennessee River, Andy and I needed some R&R with friends. Some of the best friends to play with are Sass and Louise!! We all like to watch movies, eat, try new restaurants, listen to music, boating and swimming and hiking....the list goes on....we are 'made for each other' playmates!

After an interesting, inspiring and delicious meal at 'Repaz' (the new place to go) in Blue Ridge, we drove on over to the Old Court House. A beautiful old building with all the proper grandeur of Southern living. The building is now a Museum, gallery and music hall. It is all wonderful! Our attentions were absorbed into the local art. Many different mediums and all excellent! Our favorite was a reclining man made from welded re-bar. It was amazingly graceful and beautiful.

Seats in the old court room were slowly filling in as the musicians were showing up. We sat and listened as the musicians warmed up once they had gathered. This is a "jam" night so nobody knows who or how many musicians might join in. They all knew each other as true with the audience too!

One tune after the next was beautifully played and sung with great talent and passion. At one point in the jam a lovely white haired lady spoke up, requesting her friend to play "her Song" for her. The musician walked up to the mike and with a studdering start told her friend in the audience that she would love to but she felt she must forwarn us that she had eaten too much spaghetti and wasn't sure she could get through it all well. She sang a lovely song and never missed a note!

At Sass and Louise's recommendation we all rented a pontoon boat and went for a 4 hour tour of Lake Blue Ridge. Louise and I made up some great lunch and munch items and we headed out. Sass found us a quiet and totally private cove where we stopped for lunch. The weather was absolutely perfect. Andy and I jumped in and swam till we were out of breath. The water was a tiny chilly for Louise and Sass but to us it was heaven! We fell in love with Lake Blue Ridge. It is the lake you can see from Louise and Sass's house. It is a jewel in the mountains.

We played for a few more days, going to a great spot on the Toccoa River for trout encrusted with pecans, having a picnic lunch at the Lake Blue Ridge Park and had dinner and movies at Louise and Sass's. So much needed relaxing, fun times.....now we are rejuvenated and ready to get back to the business of looking for a home!
