Where I stayed
July 1st.
Arrived at the Olympic National Forest where they explained there is full hook up camping within the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort. So on in we went for 12 miles before arriving at Sol Duc.
Crescent Lake is a lake within the National Forest and is one of the pristine lakes of the world! the color of the water is almost not to be believed! The crystal clear water makes it look like it is only a few feet deep when actually it is 10 or more. Crescent Lake is over 600 feet deep in some areas! Andy did a dunk in to experience the texture of such clear, aquamarine water. It took his breath away it was so cold!!!! Ice like!
The Hot Springs on the opposite end of the spectrum were so hot that Sol Duc adds cold water and gives you three different areas or pools to use at your temperature choice. Andy was not able to even use the original temp that comes out of the ground! He enjoyed the mid range temp level which we would guess it about 105. These two extremes of water within the same park! How magical is that??? Can't beat the Northwest for "awesome".
On our way to Port Townsend to check it out!
