Yesterday afternoon I went to the Dead Sea.  The shore is lined with rocks covered in crystallized salt.  It was the most bizarre feeling to be floating while standing up.  It was also quite frustrating to be laying on my stomach and physically unable to pull my legs under myself to a standing position.

After our swim the lifeguard had refilled a bucket with Dead Sea mud and we lathered up and stood around for about 10 minutes letting it bake (and I mean bake) on to our skin.  After washing it off my skin did actually feel rejuvenated.  I am not sure if this was the mud or power of suggestion.  We spent the rest of the day lounging by the pool drinking lemon wa na-na.

Interesting cultural tidbit: O Beach, the private beach club where we spent the day, is not a conservative spot and almost all of the women (mostly Jordanian) were wearing bikinis.  However, the lifeguards would still blow their whistle when couples got too cozy because PDA is illegal in Jordan!

Jocey: What an experience you are having. It looks like things turned out even better than expected and have met some wonderful people and have memories you will always remember.

We're off to the Iowa McCulloh clan reception for Chris & Lindsay this weekend. Plan on talking to Lindsay and Chris about your welcome home party in NY.

Hopefully we can get something arranged, but if not then, then definitley sometime soon.

Keep those posts coming, we're enjoying them immensely.

Thanks Susan & Bob!! Have fun in Iowa. I am really sad to be missing such a fun celebration. I would love to see you all in NYC this fall. Maybe when Lindsay is on the east coast for work? Safe travels! j

It's a fact. Swim in the dead sea and your skin is rejuvenated to your adolescent years. Go back as many times as you can, maybe it can be stored for future years!
