A nasty day, and some very choppy seas took me to Krabi.  It was a big ferry boat, but having been told that a big ferry capsized there recently in bad weather, I was still more than a bit nervous!  Made it on one piece anyway.  Was heading for the resort of Ao Nang and thought I was being smart by taking a boat to the town of Krabi rather than to Ao Nang directly as it left earlier so I thought I'd be there earlier.  Wrong!  Once I'd taken into account the arguing with taxi drivers who wanted to charge me a stupid amount of money, it wasn't quicker and 2 bus rides later I finally arrived in Ao Nang.  I went to the first hotel I had picked out of the lonely planet and it was fine.  Very expensive, but fine and had TV and hot water, all good.

Out wandering later that day and I randomly bump into Sanne, a Dutch girl Chad had met in Bangkok and who me had met up with in Pai.  Small travellers' circuit and all that!  Sanne had a much more satisfying room, a bunglow with a terrace so I moved in with her saving us both some money.

Ao Nang was a nice little town, just a typical holiday resort, not that much to do except the beach and some expensive outdoor type activities that are way out of my budget!  We had decent enough weather, we got to the beach 2 days out of 3, the third being a long and boring day with never ending rain!  The actual town beach was very unsatsifying, the tide came right up to the sea wall so we actually went to a different beach just a little bit away.  It was ok but definitely not the best I"ve seen.  The other beach day was spent at Railey Beach, another resort just a couple of kilometres away from Ao Nang, accessible only by boat. It was a really beautiful beach, proper clear turqouise water, white sand and stunning cliffs as a backdrop.  Very expensive though so not for staying on!

Nights were spent having a beer or two, or even a Sangsom bucket or two!  (Buckets of a cheap Thai rum/whisky type stuff with coke and red bull - for those not in the know!)

So basically quite a pleasant time!

4 nights there, then it was time to depart Thailand, very sad to be leaving but the limit without actually buying a visa is 90 days and the day I depart, is day 90.
