We got back to the capital after a four hour bus ride from Kep. As soon as we arrived back we realised how much we had missed the city! It's a complete contrast to Kep, which is so quiet and chilled... but we are city gals after all!

That night we supped down on a few 50 cent beers and then bought a photocopied version of the lonely planet Japan do we could start planning..then went back to FaceTime our beloved families!

The next day we picked up some toiletries at central market for Japan- we figured everything would be cheaper in Cambodia. Including shampoo!

Then we went to the royal palace that evening to see the hords of people that have come to visit the king from all over the country. It's almost like a festival outside the palace, everyone drinking, praying, lighting incense and feasting on fried insects - we weren't quite brave enough to try them! Then planned Japan and got very excited for the following morning!!!

Goodbye Cambodia!

Here's a quick summary of our thoughts on the county:

Likes
The people! The friendliest, loveliest most beautiful people in all of Asia!
Price - 50 cent beers and really cheap food, accommodation makes it a great place to travel.

Surprises
How small it is - with our longest journey 7 hours by bus this makes it really easy to get around
The variety of the country. It has everything from
Beaches to jungle, to the cardamon mountains to crazy busy cities. It has something for everyone...

Dislikes
The fat old western men you see with the gorgeous Cambodian girls! Gross
Lack of variety on the Cambodian cuisine, amok and lok lak pretty good but not a touch on Vietnam or thailand.
