We were up and dressed by 10.00am this morning ready to go fishing at Haywood lake. Kara was at work so it was just Bobby, Peter and I. We stopped off at walmart to pick up 2 more fishing rods and packed everything in the car.

It took us around one hour to get to the part of the lake we wanted to be after lots of wrong turns up dirt paths and gravel roads where we saw a helicopter taking off from the river bed. The lake was empty except for a mum and two small children so we pretty much had the run of the place. We set up on the little jetty and put the gulp onto the end of the hooks. For those of you who know me well, I am not a fish person, so for me to put my fingers in fish gunk and put it onto the end of my rod, I thought was quite good. I took a little longer than Peter and Bobby before I cast a good line out into the lake but eventually I got it and we all sat down with our OHenry bars for snack.

Unfortunately after 2-3 hours we still hadn't caught any fish. We are blaming this on the fact that we didn't have a boat to get into the centre of the lake! But it was still fun and we got to see the nice scenary of Haywood lake.

After we arrived home, we didn't have long to get ready and eat dinner before we were heading back out to Earls to watch the Canucks V LA kings play off match in LA. Bobby made chicken and brie risotto whilst Kara and I got ready upstairs. It was heaven to have make up and hair straighteners for the first time in 4 months!

We arrived at Earls around 6.45pm and Claire, Kyle, Robyn and Howard were already seated. Jugs of beer in Earls are $10 which gives you about 4/5 pints so we bought 2 between us. During the course of the game this turned into 7 pitchers along with my hot chocolate fudge cake. The beer was rolling and the Canucks battered the Kings finishing the match 7-2. Peter was up and down all game and if Vancouver win on Sunday they have won the overall series and qualify for the next round so the pub had a really good atmosphere! The boys call Claire T-rex because she gets blind drunk and squints and like T-rex she looks straight through you and doesn't notice a thing until she see's movement or light. (that explains the dinosaur pose picture!)

We left the bar at around 11.00pm as we didn't want to be too late in bed with us going to Whistler tomorrow. We got into the taxi, turned out of the carpark and stopped at traffic lights only to find a car full of dodgy looking lads staring at us. We ignored them and carried on driving. All of a sudden we heard a horn beeping, we turned around to find the car of lads almost touching the bumper of our taxi with their horn pressed in. We ignored it and carried on driving but they followed us. They were still behind us 10minutes later, beeping and almost ramming the taxi. The taxi driver told us to phone 911 and he would try and find a police car. We didn't want to carry on driving to Kara's house incase they followed us so for the next few minutes we kept driving around the town centre trying to loose the car.

Eventually we saw a dodge charger which the taxi driver informed us was an undercover police car so we turned next to it. The charger pulled out and stalled the other car so we drove off quickly. It was very random and quite dodgy but luckily we were all ok and the lads didn't ram the taxi like we thought they were going to.

We got to Kara's house, and sat up for a while chatting to Kara's brother and sister before heading into bed. Kara had set up one of her spare rooms for us and we fell asleep straight away.
