Where I stayed
The lewis' house!
Leaving Portland was a bitter sweet experience this morning! We really liked Oregon but we we're off to see our family. Our greyhound bus to Seattle left at 9.00am and we crossed the state border 20 minutes later. We made a few stops in Washington before pulling up in Olympia around 11.15am. Olympia looks like a pretty nice place but I don't think we could justify spending time there as there isn't a great deal to do.
At 1.30pm Seattle appeared on the horizon and as we passed Seattle/Tacoma airport wierdly there were 4 ryanair planes parked up. I've no idea what that's about but Dad you should get on it and let me know. We passed the Safeco and Qwest arena which we'll take in when we return in May. The greyhound station is in the heart of town and we spent 15 minutes or so before boarding our coach having shown our passports to the driver.
The Canadian border was about 3 hours away and we spent most of the journey looking out the window at the awesome scenery. We stopped at Everett and Mount vernon in Washington and then we finally made it to the border. To pass through into Canada we needed to offload all our bags and personally walk them through customs.
We made it through fairly easily and 20 minutes later the bus pulled out of the customs bay and into Canada. It was now 5.10pm and we were running late and had no phone which concerned us a little. Luckily Ian and Alison were waiting for us when we arrived 30 mins late. Alison had bought us some flags and a mascot each from the winter olympics as well as a magnet, badge and keyring. A real Canadian welcome. Ian took the bags and through them in the boot of his new car which is really nice and we made the 1 hour journey to Abbotsford.
Eveyone was already at the house cooking dinner when we arrived. It was really good to see Claire, Bobby and Howard again and to meet their partners Kyle, Robyn and Kara for the first time too. Ian gave us the tour of the house which is huge, it even has a home cinema in the basement and then he showed us our room.
We dumped our things and sat down to dinner which Bobby had made which was burgers, potato wedges and salad. We had a few beers aftwerwards in the lounge, played Fifa and caught up before heading up to sleep half an hour a go. Bobby has an exam tomorrow and everyone else has work.

Comments
the reason you saw ryanair at seattle mate, is seattle is the home of boeing and they must be new planes waiting to be delivered to the customer as soon as european airspace reopens
