The 3rd city we visited on our 5 day trip was Maastricht in the
Netherlands.  We began our day with a stop at the point where
Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands meet (The Three Country Meeting
Point).  There were a bunch of little things to do here, and we
participated in a big life-size labyrinth.  We were told that when
we made it to the finish point, we would receive a drink.  The
labyrinth was pretty frustrating, just because I don't really like
mazes that much anyway.  It took us about 25 minutes to find the
end, but it took some people close to an hour.  When everyone
finally made it to the middle we were given our schnapps drink which
was extremely disappointing.  It tasted like a grosser version of
Jagermeister...gross!

We then departed for Maastricht, however we got lost along the way and
so we lost a good hour or two just sitting on the bus :(  When we
finally found where we were going we were way off schedule and instead
of going to Maastricht, we had to go visit a man-made cave just outside
of the city.  The cave was created by miners, mining for whatever
was in there (I wasn't too interested in this).  For whatever
reason, I really didn't enjoy the cave too much but the one cool part
was when they enclosed us in complete darkness and we had to feel our
way around a tunnel...creepy.

After the cave we headed back to Maastricht where we had two hours to
do whatever we wanted.  We were excited to do some shopping but
since it was already 6 PM, all of the stores had closed already.
Some of the girls decided to just sit down, relax, and have a beer but
Kristina and I just walked around to see the sights.  The one open
store that we found was a head-shop which sold like every type of drug
paraphenelia you could imagine.  It was really weird, but
interesting to see.

For the rest of the evening, we were taken to a German carnival in
Aachen, Germany.  It pretty much reminded me of the Westmoreland
County Fair, but all German.  It was really really fun.  We
each bought 0.5 liter beers and enjoyed those, and then walked around
and got some food.  We all got chocolate covered fruit (I got a
banana) and then I bought some pizza and found out that salami on pizza
is really really good!

After this lllooonnnnngggg day we finally made it back to the hostel in
Belgium where we rested up for the final day of our trip!
