G'day, Bula, Hello, We're Home! (KC ENTRY)

HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, we are back on US soil. It has been a long time (10mo). Longest trip to date and boy, did I miss Mexican food. :)

In a nutshell:
We finished up traveling the East Coast of Australia. We sailed the Great Barrier Reef, surfed up the coast (even though the swell wasn't in our favor), got a tan, ate dry cereal out of our van (whilst parked in front of the beach), used the gas stations to brush our teeth, slept in parking lots (in the van of course), got caught once by the rangers, ate fish and chips, laughed, met some friends, visited with some old friends, laughed some more, got stranded, car broke down, got ripped off by a mechanic, cried, friends took us in and showered us with kindness, and went many miles.......

Then to Fiji:
Traveled with a 9ft board bag weighing 70lbs plus 2 40lb backpacks, Relaxed, met some great people, swam in crystal waters, snorkeled, relaxed some more, read, bumped into some old friends, rented a car, met some incredible fijians, went to a fijian church (the baptist had been there!), wore flowers in our ear, stayed at a surf resort that wouldn't take us surfing, met an american family (one who is a Westmont grad a yr before me) who took Jonathan surfing, met some incredible people, swam/scuba with sharks, got a tan, relaxed.

15 countries down, 0 to go. Done.

Feeling a little overwhelmed being back in America. Can't say at this moment if I am happy at getting back to reality... Kind of want to be back in the crystal clear waters of Fiji. (I mean who wouldn't!?) But I am sooo looking forward to seeing everybody. I'm just taking it one moment at a time and trying to take it in stride. Hard to do when you hit the pavement running! :)

Thank you everyone who has sent us emails over the past months. It has been hard to get back to everyone, but I loved reading every single one of them and they all meant so much to me. Reminded me that I am loved back here at home. And to all the folks we met traveling, it was some fun times. Please don't be strangers.
Our plan for the moment is to be in San Diego for probably a year. I am saddened not to be in SB, but I will remind myself that it's not far for a visit. And i hear there is a great zoo down here if you are wanna come for a visit! :)

We've come full circle,
