Hey-
So, some of you i spoke with just today, others it's been maybe a year or so, but i wanted to give you an update... you might find this interesting!
So, yes i was home, and yes i quickly left. It's not that i do not like my family or friends (in fact, on the contrary!) I just wanted to travel at least until i turned 26 (that's when most the travel deals run out).
So, i quickly came home from living in Australia and did the brother wedding thing and was expecting to turn around immediately but got detoured. The day i bought my ticket (to leave 3 weeks later) I met someone who was pretty cool. Now, i KNOW that most of you think that there can be no guy that could ever tie me down. It would be a pretty patient and understanding man. So, he tied me down for 3 months.... He's patient and understanding(and he's american!! i started to think that would never happen, im not in the country long enough!). BUT back on the road, i'll get to him in a sec.
So enjoyed a small summer in San Diego with my family and left last sunday to go around the world. Now, when i decided to buy this ticket it was the cheapest way back to australia so i just figured i would hit a couple other places on the way.
I flew into London last week and stayed with a circus out in the sticks of london. (a friend of mine from oz is in the circus). That was a interesting experience. Made me feel like i was not normal for not being able to contort my body in weird and excruciating positions. I then flew to the south of France and ate lots of bread and brie and now im overlooking the swiss alps. I'm touring around Europe a bit more (mainly visiting friends and not doing the backpacking thing) and then on to Sri Lanka.(so if you know anybody)
I am stopping Sri Lanka for 5 days then im going to Cambodia to volunteer in a medical clinic. Jonathan (the patient and understanding man) is coming over in November and from there we are planning on traveling around SE Asia and then over to Australia. When i bought the ticket i was planning on working again in Oz and enjoying life there. But that has changed (see, he is tying me down in a way..??) instead we will continue traveling and surfing (hopefully some parts i haven't seen), then fiji (surfing again) and then home (mar/april).
So, at this point i would highly recommend the around the world thing. You just get more bang for your buck! :)
I hope that you are all well. If any of you have ANY advice on any of those places it would be GREATLY appreciated, since we are just kind of flying by the seat of our pants and seeing what happens. I do love hearing from all of you, just sometimes i don't have enough internet time to write you all back individually. But please keep me in touch with all of your lives!
Blessings,
KC
