Where I stayed
Hotel Las Palapas
Julie:
Thank god we got here. Now we are in paradise. Everything about Las Palapas is beautiful - from the gardens, to the beach, to the cabanas.
Playa del Carmen is cute, still a very authentic Mexican town, but with tourist attractions too. Lots of good places to eat and things to do.
We love our beach. I think it is the best in Playa.
Today we mostly relaxed at the beach. We ate a fabulous dinner at a quaint little place on the beach. See photos for more info.
It's either 6pm here or 7pm here. I still haven't gotten the time figured out. As soon as I think I know, I'm wrong. Maybe thats me an I shouldn't care?
Russ is unavailable for comment at this time. He is asleep.
Russell:
I did sleep in today and when I got back from dinner. I was exhausted. We relaxed on the beach. I got in the ocean with Julie. Julie only for a short period because she thought it was cold. I went way down the beach in water up to my chest. We then tried to walk down to the quaint restaurant around two. We weren't sure where it was located so went back for the car. We walked through town and bought me a pair of sunglasses. The price started at 300 pesos and ended up at 125. Probably still got taken but I needed them. The sun is very strong. I am pink. After getting back to the hotel and taking a dump and fighting the streets we got to the restaurant about 1730. It was a very good meal. Julie bought some trinkets for the girls from a Mayan woman with a 2 month old kid attached to her exposed breast. The women was walking through the tables at the restaurant. I thought to make sells. I did see many breastesis on the beach today! It is illegal here to go nude but there are many Europeans here and they don’t bother them. We have seen many federalist as with automatic guns. Breakfast was fine and I had a very spicy omelet made and Julie ate a part. Fresh fruit was good with the sausage link stand by. Fresh orange and pineapple juice. I also learned many new words and customs today. I really like that part. I can get on a computer at the desk. Julie doesn’t share well. It is eight thirty and Julie is already asleep. I woke up! It is interesting to know we will have no tv for two weeks. I do liked to read and I am going over the Spanish books and Frommers travel guide we brought with us. Hope your cold!
Julie:
It was a Mayan GIRL with the baby on her breast. She looked about 14. Beautiful girl, beautiful baby. I couldn’t resist.
We are going down to the beach to get some bebitas ahora. Asta manana.
