Today we went on an optional excurstion to Sweetwater Private Sanctuary. We are so lucky the morning started off being very sunny and we did see Mt. Kenya completly uncovered!
We entered the park and immediately started to see animals!
We saw lots of gizelles, zebras( both types), baboons, a few giraffes, water bufallo, warthogs (they are very ugly), black rhinos (very far away but recognizable with their horns) and most exciting elephants. See below for more details of the animals we sw.
The elephants just crossed the road in front of us. One he was so not pleased with us and trumpted. Started swaying his trunk. Looked agressive, trumpted again and then started to charge our vehicle! Thankfully he stopped about 15m from our vehicle! We were very excited!

We went to a chimpanze sanctuary and saw one of two groups in the park. Very interesting. We also went to see a Black Rhino who could no longer see and was being looked after by the sanctuary.
We had a great lunch at the Sweatwater Tent Camp while we watched zebras graze in the distance.
It was back to the hotel for a bit of rest before we get ready to eat again.

Thank goodness you made it out!
Everybody at school was wondering and keeping
their fingers crossed for you. Sounds like everything
worked out and you're having a wonderful time.
Watch out for those wild animals!
