I can't complain about my tasks here at Tabithas. When I first arrived we spent a couple days working on the driveway, patching holes in the gravel, and pouring cement gutters to prevent too much water running down and forming grooves. The driveway is long, and seriously rutted in sections, a lot of work remains. Something tells me that this isn't the first time holes have been patched and gutters dug. Its a losing battle, but it must be waged.
At times I've spent hours alone in the garden, happily picking away at weeds. The last couple days her and I have helped a friend of hers, Terri, tend his plot of land that previously housed a vineyard. Our task is simple, and not overly arduous; while he runs a large till through the earth with a tractor, we follow behind and pull out roots. With the crisp Autumn days, and plenty of sunshine, the work is even enjoyable at times. In the end I'm given 70 Euros for my efforts, which was unexpected, though certainly appreciated.
