Breakfast was one of the most unusual meals I've eaten all trip. Tej (honey wine) was an acceptable breakfast drink; sweet with a present, though not overwhelming, alcoholic taste. We ate cubes of raw goat with injera and berebere, followed by grilled goat. I prefered the goat grilled to be honest. It was all delicious, but a lack of vegetables left me feeling hungry.
We joined one of the local riders for dinner at his house. His mom prepared a real feast, and it was a special experience to be invited into their home. As usual, I ate more than I should have, as his mom forced round after round of fish, injera and lamb onto my plate. I did my best and left in obvious pain. I think she was pleased.
