From Montreal I made a brief stop in Ottawa (less than a day) which to be honest I found was enough (admittedly, this may have been due to me not doing enough reading on 'what to do / see' in Ottawa). I made a day of walking around Parliament Hill (Ottawa's parliament building and
surrounding area, which looks very similar to London's Houses of Parliament and Big Ben); the buildings are set right on the edge of Ottawa's river, which makes for a fantastic backdrop picture. I also mooched around the Byward Market which was fairly trendy and full of
little food stalls/shops and nik naks etc. Beyond the market and also Parliament Hill is Ottawa's very interesting looking Notre Dame Basilica and a rather strangely positioned object that looks like a giant 'spider'....
