I spent around 5 days here in Vancouver, soaking up the sunshine, general warmth and olympic vibe.  Vancouver is a beautiful city, surrounded by lush parks, massive mountains and crystal clear water - it`s pretty spectacular!  Most of my time was spent walking around the city, checking out places such as china town, Stanley park and Granville Island - which is a great place to stop and relax, enjoy lush food and pass the time people watching.
For a city park, Stanley park is very impressive - I even got to see my first raccoon there, which i was very excited about, especially as it semi fell out of a tree!  The park also has a brilliant aquarium which I mooched around in for a couple of hours, namely engrossed by the crazy jelly fish.
It would seem my snowboarding days for this trip are well and truly over - Whistler and the other mountains nearby are either way too expensive or have virtually no snow : (
I have been very fortunate and met a really helpful, genuine traveler who has offered to take my gear back to the UK and post it internally - what luck!!  (Hopefully it wont end up on ebay!).

Other antics / personal experiences whilst here include:-
* A drunken night out at one of Vancouver'sī finest gay clubīs; not really sure why we ended up here but it was all pretty amusing! The entertainment was mainly provided by the very well muscled and oiled men that were dancing in showers on stage; wearing white y-fronts with fake hard willies shoved down the front... classic!
* An outing to the Cinema with a few friends from the hostel - we watched Avatar in 3D... that was something special!
* A horrific bikini wax given by a sadistic Thai beauty therapist - I had originally thought this would be a good idea in preparation for Brazilīs amazing beaches and the skimpy bikiniīs that are mandatory but I was very, very wrong. I wont go in to all of the gory detail but it is definitely one of the most ridiculous situations I have walked, no waddled away from with zero personal dignity left, and only half a wax! Half due to the fact that I had to tell the crazy, psycho lady to stop as I couldn't take any more pain or stomach seeing more blood which came from the cm gash she somehow managed to give me from waxing strips!!.
