I told you guys that I went to Moscow and found out that
someone had jacked my card. Well,
I called the bank from Moscow ($60 US) to try to get them to send me another
one and they said no problem. A
few weeks passed and I haven't received it or heard a word, so I called them
again. This time they told me that
it hadn't been sent and that would send it again... US post. I have been here long enough to know
that the US Post takes from 3 to 5 weeks to get anything here and so I asked
them if they could send it overnight and I would pay the difference. Flat out refusal. Flat out. They tell me it will take
7-10 days. " 7-10 days", I say, "I'm not talking about Russia,
Illinois here. I'm talking Russia
the country. You are insane if you think that it will get here in 7-10
days." Still refused. So now
here I am, stuck in Russia and leaving for Moscow on Fri. the 12th and I have
NO money or a way to get any. But
still I don't freak. (Isn't this
so unlike me?)

I
call them back and ask them to send it to my dad instead and they agree to do
that. So I call dad. "Dad," I say," my new
debit card is coming. As soon as
you get it FedEx it overnight.
I'll pay you back when I get home." No problem, right? WRONG. FedEx refuses to send it. No debit cards or credit cards. So here I am again with no money and no way of getting
any. I'm a little bit apprehensive
to say the least, considering that I have less than $80 US dollars to my
name. Thank God for friends, but
they are broke too. It's funny
though because all I can hear right now is the song Stranded by Heart.
"dooon't leave me
stranded. If you leave now you
leave me empty handed....." but crazy as it sounds, still not freaking
out. No worries. Something will happen positive in my
life. It has to.

Oh!
And if you plan on traveling don't use Bank of America. They have no concern
for your safety while abroad but otherwise I guess they are okay. I'm switching when I get home. Do you blame me?

p.s family members don't freak out and
don't try to send anything here by western union or anything. I haven't found anything here like
that. I'm not worried and I'm the
one stuck here on the other end of the world and not worrying so you shouldn't
either.
But if you want to contribute to the GJTHORF (The Get Julie The Hell Out of
Russia Fund) then send a check made out to me to my dad. He will deposit for me. Thanks. J
