Giant Flea Market!

My sister and I went to the Market du Midi today. This market is all aroung Gare du Midi, the main train station in Brussels. This giant market is only open on Sundays and its amazing how much stuff is brought in, set up, and then the unsold items schlepped off again only to be brought back again next Sunday.


We ate some fresh made sausage, drank Moroccan mint tea and people watched as thousands of people went about their business buying clothes, every kind of ethnic food, plants, flowers, knick knacks, designer perfumes out of a backpack, and street musicans perform for the crowd...



We walked to the Gran Place from the Market










St Nicholas church right near the Gran Place was just recently restored including lots of period furnature from Louis XIV:


Found a statue of the JC, These are his brass toes:



Walked from the Gran Place area to another neat neighborhood with lots of restaurants. Had an apertif and then walked around for a few taking in the local sights:
