As we come home I find myself thinking of all the things we have done and repeating the question of why have we only spent 17 days exploring this massive and massively interesting and exciting country?! I know the answer is simply the so-called responsibilities of life and work but that is hardly enough to stop me asking the question.

Visiting Russia has been a bit of a dream-realisation for me, standing in Red Square in front of St Basils, walking through the gargantuan museums that are The Hermitage of St Petersburg and The Armoury of Moscow, taking the trains along the Trans Siberian Railways, visiting some of Siberia, I almost have to pinch myself as I write this to convince myself I have really done these things that once seemed so far and impossible.

Often we travel somewhere new and exciting and come home pleased we have seen and experienced it but not sure that we will return as the world is so big and has so many more experiences waiting to be encountered. This is one time where I am certain we will return, not sure exactly when, possible to see some of it in the snow and ice of their freezing winters, definitely to see more and learn more about the Russian people, places, sights, sounds, smells and tastes that have intrigued and welcomed us, I recommend you do the same!
