Our new friends, the Samson family, were also in Eilat, staying at  Kibbutz Eilot just outside of the town. They came into Eilat and we had a great day together. We started off on the beach and swimming in the Red Sea, a very calm sea and quite warm for this time of the year and also a lot more buoyant than expected. Not quite the Dead Sea sort of buoyancy but an easier float than most oceans. Then, children armed with ice creams, we spent a few hours at the hotel's three swimming pools, one each for toddlers and children and a beautiful big pool for everyone else.
 
After a lot of lounging around we went walking along the promenade and then for a late lunch, it was dark by the time the Samson's caught a taxi back to their Kibbutz.
 
We finished the great day with more relaxing and later a desert and coffee instead of supper.

Such good memories!
I truly enjoyed reading your account of your trip to Israel. The Samson family thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you and Annie. Achi's influence in people's lives is still tangible! we are grateful to him and Yael that we have met and spent such good and unplanned fun time!
