My last week in Yantai was actually really nice. I decided to stick around until November 11th so I could tie up any loose ends and also so I see my friends Shenoa and Nate sing at one of the restaurants in Yantai. It was a really great week. I went to Penglai, a city just outside of Yantai, with Amy. The city is famous for its mirages and has some really pretty temples and monuments that have been constructed to attract tourists. I didn't see any mirages when looking out over the water, but they had a lovely video of the mirages. It just looked foggy to me. I also hung out a few times with my language partner, and we walked around on Yantai hill and saw the old consulates. Yantai used to be the main trading port in China before it was moved to Shanghai, and they still have the old buildings there. They were definitely worth seeing, and it was fun seeing them with Sophie. She's a senior and she hadn't gone to see them yet either, so I didn't feel quite as bad about the fact that I hadn't gotten around to seeing them.
