Not to bore you with too many photos, I will send a few at a time so that you are able to see the changes in the garden while we are here. I recognize some of the flowers but wish I had some reference material here. If this were my home, I would print a layout of the garden and mark the different beds so that guests would know. I will ask Manuela when we see her along with wanting to know some history of the house. It is fun to imagine though and wonder about its life all of these years.

The house has many outside levels to sit. You can follow the sun from morning tea to cocktails. As the time progresses we will be outside in the evening more. Tony will try out the BBQ this week. Tonight for dinner we were all about lemons, capers, garlic, olive oil, new asparagus and baby potatoes, farm chicken, great Portuguese bread and wine. Tony is enjoying choosing the wines and partaking a little since his 40 day break.

The house sleeps seven, has three bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, den, three bedrooms, lots of halls and landings that hold interesting pieces of furniture from days gone by. Skylights are everywhere they can be, to bring lots of natural light into the house.  It has obviously grown over the years and for expansion another piece of the hill carved out. It is someone's vacation home, filled with family in the summer. Situated in the cool of Penedo, but a stones throws from Sintra, Cascais and Estoril, all historical vacation spots on the coast. It is also very near Colares, a village surrounded by gardens and vineyards.

Tomorrow I will bring you inside,

Take care,

Janie
