Today we visited a church not far from where we are living. Not 100% our style, but it was great being able to worship with the Filipinos. The pastor of the church has an amazing heart for missions and is constantly traveling all over the world. His church led "Project Pearl" (June 18, 1981, was the delivery date for Open Doors’ Project Pearl. Using a tugboat and a specially-designed barge.  Twenty men secretly delivered one million Chinese Bibles – 232 tons – in one night to thousands of Chinese Christians waiting on a beach in southern China.) His next trip is this week to India, so pray that his travels would be safe and effective.

Also visiting the church, was a pastor from down in Mindanao, where all the flooding has just taken place. He shared stories about all that has been happening down there and it was very sad. Every member of his church has lost their house and everything they own. During the time he was sharing this horrible news he kept praising God for his grace, and allowing them to live. Not once did he get bitter over all that has happened. He was an amazing testimony of loving God and loving people. We hope to be able to make a trip down there with Dave and Lorna to aid in the recovery process.

Back in the 70's as part of the Jesus Movement a couple came to Manila for a few months, and never returned until a few yrs ago. While they were here, about 12 people were led to Jesus. One was the pastor of the church we visited, who has helped pioneer the Christian movement in the Philippines and SE Asia in the last 40 yrs. He has started hundreds of churches across the country. Another was the visting pastor from Mindanao, and the third is a pastor of the largest church in Manila, with over 3 million members. It is pretty amazing what an amazing ripple affect this couple made.

Monday Lorna goes in for surgery, so please keep her in your prayers. If your would like to donate specifically to the Mindanao flood victims use this link and scroll down until you see the Mindanao heading: http://withinreachglobal.org/invest/invest

Here is a short video of our condo we are living in. Nothing to exciting.
