Getting into Lima once again reminded me why I wasn't looking forward to returning. However, we figured we should at least see some of the city and Elise wanted cheap glasses from one of the many discount glasses stores that we saw our first time around. We should not have even bothered going back.

I was still recovering from food poisoning in Nasca and Elise was fighting something of her own. So, our second Lima experience ended up being mostly spent in the little apartment (which was a lot noisier than either of us remembered) and to and from places to get food. We did check out the downtown core and explore a bit. There were some nice buildings, but it did not feel safe. We also tried to do a city tour, but the tour had no one else signed up, so it was canceled. Elise also tried to get some glasses, but after looking into a bunch of places and being dragged around by some crafty sales people, we realized that she might as well spend the money on some brand name glasses that she can trust (we found some really nice ray ban glasses that were more expensive here than they would be back home). We then left Lima, hoping for beach and sunshine in Huanchaco.
