The museum is nice, but nothing is animated, so like toddlers we wander about not reading anything and only being interested at each display for a few moments at a time (we're here as much for the air con as the culture).
In the afternoon, after deciding not to sit down for lunch but grab a sandwich and eat outside instead, the news that New York has legalised gay marriage reaches god and the heaven's open. As the rain thickens we are steadily trapped in the doorway of an apartment building for shelter. We sit here for 20 minutes considering whether or not to start building an arc and watching wet New Yorkers trying to hail cabs and wading through puddles in flip flops, before the sun pokes out (still raining). When it lets off we walk to Union Square, stopping in interesting shops along the way, where Bronwyn heads off home and Jo buys some Toms.
Come evening we opt for a cheap dinner at home (we're still getting used to calling it that) and go for some card playing and beers off Bedford Ave.
