Robert is a legend.
Later we take the L train for the first time into Brooklyn. We have a flat viewing arranged near the Morgan Avenue stop. We arrive a little early to check out the neighbourhood. We get off the train, then straight back on it. Bad vibes.
Bedford Avenue is our next stop, the heart of hipster Williamsburg
. We like it, although it is way too hip and trendy for us awkward englishmen! Full of cafe's and bars and overpriced retro shops, so Jo can have her fill of wankyness. (haha) We have a beer and then decide to call Roberts friend Leo who lives nearby, we were told that we should be nosy and check out his studio. Its definitely worth the cheek! Leo has developed sensor panels that light up when touched and can do all other kinds of crazy shit. The white coffee table in his lounge looks like it could have been lifted right out of a habitat show room, but when we place our hands near to it the surface glows red. It has different settings, activated by touching one unmarked corner of the table top, which make the light stay longer, enable it to be turned on and off and so on and so forth. Needles to say, Jo has to be dragged away. (it brings out the tech geek in her.) We agree that Leo is gonna make some big bucks.
The rest of the day is obviously too uneventful for Jo to remember to note down.
We wake to a phone call from Robert urging us to go up to the roof and check out the 'hot brazilian girl' who is currently sun bathing topless. He says we should go and say hi, Claire says 'tell me, why would I want to take Jo up there?' he suggests maybe Claire should go on her own. Claire doesn't go.
