Brasov is the town of the famous Dracula folklore. Bram Stoker wrote the book Dracula based on the brutal Romanian ruler Vlad the Impaler. Vlad was born in Brasov and the famous Bran Castle near Brasov is where he supposedly lived for a while. Besides all the "vampire" sightseeing, there is actually alot to see in Brasov and the surrounding area. Castles, fortresses, bastions, churches, the whole lot. It is truly a picturesque, preserved area. The local people are amazing! Really nice and helpful. We have had a great time here and have seen so much. But I must make a confession. I have to apologize to some people for being a big, fat hypocrite. I did not put on sunscreen today and I am now currently pink on my nose, shoulders, and the tops of my feet. I will have a perfectly shaped Birkenstock tan line on my feet! So, sorry Kristi, Mel, Cait, and anyone else I may have nagged about being careful to put on sunscreen, because, well, I myself was not so careful. Love you all!
