Here's what I enjoyed about Agra
1. All you can eat breakfast at the Clark Shiraz Hotel
2. Beer at the Hotel Oberi Awali
3. Agra Fort
4. Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal does look magnificent. Alas, after an all night train ride, and, well, 6 months on the road, the breakfast buffet at the Clark Shiraz just blew me away. And, you cannot believe the decadence at the Oberi Awali Hotel. It made the Taj Mahal seem rinky dink. Though, having the Taj Mahal as a neighbor helps. The Agra Fort really surprised me. I liked it almost as much as the Alhambra in Grenada, Spain, which is my all time favorite building. Well, second favorite. Farrell's ice cream parlor in Escondido must be my favorite. Alas, it no longer exists as it once did. If the Agra Fort had all the fountains and waterways restored and working then it would rival or beat the Alhambra. And the Taj Mahal. But the Taj was nice. It's just, well, you kind of know what to expect, you know? Unlike a beer.
