Packed our bags before we left the hotel, this is our last day in DC. Our friend arranged a Capitol tour for us this morning through Mary Fallon’s office. Greg her intern from Chicago was assigned to us....  We were his first tour. Greg was a nice kid.... The Capitol was great, but I think the quote of today belongs to the young intern, referring to a statue of George Washington, (and I quote) "G dubs was like an awesome freaking leader guy".    After the Capitol we went to the Library of Congress and then lunch at the Old Ebbits Grille a restaurant in service since the late  1700' was okay!
The National Archives were next,  Jaxson really enjoyed seeing The Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights. After that we walked down to the Air and Space Museum....  and although we were all in agreement as we left there that we were museumed-up …we decided to see just one more, The Holocaust Museum, when you enter the museum you are given an identity of someone involved in the holocaust.... at the end you find out if your person survived or not, my person escaped to Switzerland, John’s didn't make it....he was hung! This was a very touching yet depressing museum...  But it happened and it is part of history!
We left the Holocaust museum in the rain (first bad weather since we arrived) went to a Persian restaurant, Moby Dick's, allot like Greek food. Grabbed  our  bags at the hotel and back to Union Station to catch our train for New York City. We arrived at Penn Station in NYC around 10:30 and grabbed a cab to our hotel, the Tribeca Grand, located in the Tribeca/Soho area  we were pleased to find a new modern hotel and the Bellman saw Regis here just last month! We headed over to Wo Hop (24hr Chinese food) it’s a dump... but it is a GOOD dump.... Karen you would love it!
