Bustling terminal - and we see a lot of it as we wait for the boarding at 1330 hrs. There are two ships at a time in the terminal so that means some 5000 people coming and going, looking for luggage and just milling about. We are taking it easy with some good coffee from the bar.
They took our luggage when we arrived - we have just one suitcase but it often gets labelled "HEAVY" and gave us a plastic card with a big "D" on it. You might figure it has something to do with the order of boarding but you'd be dead wrong.
At one o'clock we push towards the check point with tickets and passports. Nobody pays attention to our "D" or to other people's "F's" and "Q's". Two more check points after that and we are on board. The passports are getting worn with so much use.

Costa Atlantica is the biggest cruise ship we have ever been on: 2 700 passengers and 900 crew. Too big for our taste but there was nothing smaller going to Norway this month. Nothing I could find, anyway.

We get to our cabin easily and the "Heavy" is already waiting there. Of course we have a balcony - just like more than half of all the staterooms these days.

Jettie feels like a rest after all that traveling so I go to dinner alone. We have table of 8 with a Belgian couple Maria and Rene, English couple Elizabeth and Graham and a Spanish pair Rosaria and Paco. We eat, we joke and we watch the departure through the stern-facing window.

Tomorrow is a day at sea, going north to Norway.
