We all got up pretty early to another sunny day and began our drive to our next destination which was Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Alps on the German/Austrian border.  Our first stop was at Zell am See - a very nice lake area - we had lunch there with sandwiches we made before leaving Bad Gastein.  We walked around the town and walked a bit near the lake.  It was a nice stop.  Our travels then took us through Fieberbrunn which is where Chepe and Maria's son, daughter-in-law and grandkids live - we had planned a little detour to their house to see them for a little over an hour.  Sabine had a nice cake and coffee for us and we played badminton with Simon and Miriam - while Sharon and Christoph went to run a few errands.  It was nice to see them again.

We had about a three hour drive after leaving Fieberbrunn and it was such a beautiful drive we didn't mind.  We stopped at a little restaurant with a cute beer garden along the way and then by the time we reached the hotel for check-in we weren't too hungry.  The hotel we stayed at was one I stayed at with them last August when I visited them.  They were having a promotion that weekend and the room rate was 80 Euro a night and then they had a beer, chili and ice cream promotion which was any of the items for 80 "Euro" cents.  Guess where we stayed....and guess how much chili people had?!  Unfortunately no one had the ice cream and my drinks were not on special - but we enjoyed it all regardless and then we walked up to a restaurant on the lake near the hotel for dinner.  We stopped back at the bar for a couple more drinks and to watch the boxing match that was going on in Germany that night - then we were off to bed.  A long, but fun day.
