The Daintree river is one of the spots to look for saltwater crocs in this area. Since I was a kid I've always wanted to see a big saltwater croc! Too bad it isn't really the season to spot the big ones, cause the mothers are hatching in the smaller creeks which are not accessable. A take a one hour cruise on the river. The Daintree river is very wide and murky. The crocs are most likely to be seen on the riverbeds.
And yes! We spot a few babies laying on the riverbanks. They are so tiny but seem to be fully shaped like an adult. A little bit later we see another baby but this one is swimming and chasing some big insects along the shores. Well to be honoust, this is as good as this story gets.. No big crocodiles, no specteculair images but still great to have seen their habitat and to have seen the babies. I guess I have to come back one time in the right season, and I'll definetly try the Darwin area then. Yeah guys, crocodile tears overhere ;)
