Queenstown! The party capital of New Zealand! Or so they say..
It's Labour day weekend and Jan is celebrating his big 3.0 birthday and we are gonna party! Of course that's not the only thing I came for. Besides partying there's lots of adventurous stuff to do and of course Milford Sound. I'm gonna be very brief about Milford Sound; I didn't get to see it because a storm blocked the road for a couple of days which was a big dissapointment.
We decide to take the gondola up to the mountain and enjoy a game of Luge ride! It's a downhill track with a small car that only has a steering and breaking device. Jan is bragging about his skills and says he's surely going to beat me. We'll see about that.. Best out of 5. Germany - Holland: Let the games begin!
Jan wins the first game. I win the second game. Jan is complaning about how me being heavier then himself gives me an advantage in gaining speed. Good people, this is typical German behaviour: making up excuses to explain your loss ;)
I win the third game and Jan wins the fourth. Final game! It's a close call...of course I kick his ass and win, what else?
Jan starts making excuses again and my response is: Mein Freund! Schade Deutschland alles ist vorbei, alles ist vorbei! Once again it shows our fellow neighbours shouldn't underestimate the Dutchies :D

After Jan's terrible performance we buy ourselves some beer to do some pre partying in the hostel. I'm listening to my music on my Ipod and a Korean guy wants to know what I am listening. I give him an earpiece and he listens carefuly and concentrated. Korean guy:'What is this kind of music? I like it!'
Me: 'Well this is what I like to call techno my friend!' It's a liveset of Nick Hoepner and his style is best discribed as energetic, rythmic and always pumping! Always nice to share music with different cultures :)
After the pre drinks, Jan and I go into town to different bars and party with the rest of Queenstown!
Next day we ask a woman of the info center if she knows some indoor activities cause it's raining.
'Indoooooooor???' she repeats like I'm asking a weird question.
'Indoor yes, like lazergaming for example', I respond.
'Minigoooolfff?', she responds.
'No indoor lazergaming!', I answer.
What in gods name is wrong with your ears woman!
This is not working out here so I decide to walk into an adventure store to ask for some other activities. Allthough it's raining this is actually my last chance to to an outdoor activity like a jetboat tour. So I decide to book this tour with the jetboat that takes me to the shotover river. This jetboat makes 360 degrees spins on the water and goes very fast and almost touches the sides of the canyon rocks! A thrillseeking adventure :D

All and all Queenstown is not what I thought it would be. To me it seems it's not the partycapital It claims to be. Then again my expectations and experiences may be on a different level as well. At least I really enjoyed the action adventures and action is something you will definetly find overhere.
