Today I'll be on a tour to Cape Reinga, the most northern part of the northern Island. Our first stop is the Puketi Kauri Forest. One of the oldest forests on the island with 2000 year old trees and great prehistorical plants.
Ever been on a highway beach before?
Welcome to the 90 Miles Beach! Where you can drive any vehicle over the sand at a maxium speed of 100km's an hour! Be careful though, the police will give You a speeding ticket when you exceed the limits ;)
It's awesome to drive in a big bus over the beach at high speed, splashing through the water!!
After this crazy ride we arrive at Cape Reinga, where you can walk to the lighthouse and watch the currents of the western abel tasman sea collide with the great ocean on te right. Spectecular views all around! According to Maori Legend this is the departing place of spirits on their journey to the homeland. This ground is sacret.
Next stop is Taipa Beach for lunch.
And then we head to Te Paki for the best part of the day... Sand dune boarding!!
After climbing 50 meters at a very steep slope, you grab your bodyboard and make your way downhill as fast as you can! Adrenaline is pumping and it's a great thrill. So I did it again :)
