Arrived in the town of Cheweng on Koh Sumai island on Sunday night after a an hour and a half flight form Bangkok, a two hour bus journey, a ferry for another hour and a half and then a minibus for an hour.

It was well worth the effort, especially as it meant leaving that craphole Bangkok behind.

We got these bungalows for accommodation about 20 yards from the beach and what a beach! White sand, warm water, sunny skies, palm trees the works! Nearly as good as Garryvoe!

So days have been spent on the beach, going swimming and stuff. The only problem is all these guys keep on coming up selling stuff. Some of them are a good laugh though, they start singing songs and stuff to get you to buy an ice cream.

Its very quiet at the moment because its low season so the bars are fairly quiet. One night myself and Hartnett went out for an er bucket of whiskey and coke and got talking to this English guy who has arrived in Bangkok a few days beforehand and told us how he had a close escape with a ladyboy who he swore looked nothing like man...

Bumped into Aoife O'Brien from SAP then one day just walking the street. In fairness I was thinking it would only be a matter of time before we met someone from home. So that night we all went out for a few beers in this reggae bar with Aoifes sister in law and some weird manic depressive English guy they had picked up somewhere. Good laugh though.

Another day we rented out a jeep and went cruising around the island. We went looking for this waterfall so we parked the jeep at the end of the road and then had to go on a trek up the mountain through the jungle to the waterfall. We got to one point where there was a pool you can swimming in so we went for a dip and there was a cave under the waterfall where you can chill out for a while which was class.

Went on a nice trip of the island that day. Saw yet another giant buddha statue, the place seems to full of them!
