I admit, I borrowed the following paragraph from Jil & Mike's blog...  but it shares my feeling on doing this daily..."Before getting into the blog I want to be clear on one thing, OK? I will not be making entries on this blog every day while here in the desert.  Some of our kids get nervous when they don't receive an email from us that states "Hi from Umpty Dump" every day. I have personal reasons why.  OK, the truth- I'm just too lazy, capiche?"... Thank you Jil & Mike for the quote!

I start our day with a good friend and our dog's taking a mile or two hike across the desert to the sea and then back...  Dale's dogs enjoy the walk and take it in stride.. I'm guessing that his dogs don't get much more than 100 yards from him...   On the other hand my German Short Hair, Rowdy jumps out of the truck and starts to run, and will run for the whole time...   I'm guessing that while Dale and I do a mile or mile and a half, ole Rowdy must do 6 or 7 miles running up and down the hills..   I let him get a good distance away and than call him back...
We're working on his ability to return to me when called...  to stop what he's doing, break point and come...    and at times I think I'm winning the battle and other days I think he is... When we returned home, Rowdy smelled really REALLY BAD after his run... something like dead fish!  Ugh!  I'm sure that he thought he smelled pretty good! So he got a bath and so did his collar!

This afternoon we decided to run into the bay where it was low tide and see if we could dig some clams...   we had a small rake and found that most of the nice clams were at the line between the sand and the dirt maybe 2-4" deep...   In about an hour Dale and I dug 3-4 lbs of clams while the ladies looked for shells and took photos... the whole time the dogs were running between the guys and the gals..  frankly I was surprised how level the bottom of the bay is... or maybe tidal area is a better name...  I guess we walked another mile or maybe a mile and a
half...

Went into town for dinner . . . Chicken and shrimp enchiladas, Chile Rellenos and don't forget the Margarita's!

Sunrise pictures today of the lighted shrimp boats that spend the night just off shore . . . the locals have it that the boats spend the night on the boat so that the crew shows up for work!... I hear while on shore the crew gets drunk then not show up for work.  Thus, the reason they spend the night on the water!

We started today with walking the dogs again...Rowdy now gets really excited when Dale drives up with his truck . . . He knows that he gets to go for a run... He will run until he drops...takes a nap and is ready to do it all over again!  Later we had to put some computer time in and get some bills  paid...  while sitting here our friends Gary & Sherry showed up from Yuma...  Gary's got a great 38' coach and didn't pay attention when he backed in..  he knocked off the water line in his spot and we had a 20ft stream of water in the air...  luckily the pipe is PVC plastic so no
damage to the coach but the park had to turn off the water, fix the broken pipe and turn the water back on... see the picture of Gary's Geyser... For a really good laugh now would be a good time to see the movie 'RV' with Robin Williams!

We had to run to town to pick up another 5 gal of drinking water.. we take in a 5 gal container and fill it..  the cost is 9 pesos or about 75 cents..  while in town we picked up some banana's which were nice and about the same price as we find in the states...  in addition Gail wanted some half/half....  we spent I'm guessing maybe 30 minutes looking in the dairy section and then the complete refrigerated section of the store looking... we really never found the half/half but finally ran across what we assumed was whipping cream...  so we bought a container that we assume was a liter...  maybe 3/4 of a liter....  One of the surprises was that the shelf in the refer was fine but everything on the top shelf was frozen... as I walked down the cooler I finally found a thermometer on the top shelf...  it was down to 15* F. so everything on the top shelf was frozen and everything on the other shelves were just above the freezing mark....

When we arrived back at camp, happy hour had already started in Gary's coach...  the other 2 couples were at least a drink ahead of us..  we sat and talked until a little after 6 pm and we all went home...
