Megan & Justin's Wedding
This is a new format for me . . . my first . . .
We arrived home on June 1st. Jim's Sister Kathy and her husband Wayne were already camped out in our driveway! Thank you Bud for taking care of them until our return home. Left for Family Reunion in Corvallis Oregon and spent two weeks on the Oregon Cast where it rained 11 out of 14 days . . . Didn't let a little rain dampen our spirits and had a good time anyway. Spent the night of July 4th at the Army Corps campground in Plymouth WA. On the road again July 20 and arrived at Thousand Trails at Sun River OR. Bend Oregon is in the Cinder and Lava bed country, climate is desert, warm during the day cooling off at night, and proned to thunder and lightning storms with the temperature changes. Lots of blue skies with the mountains starting with Mount Hood and on to Sisters defining the skyline.
We arrived early to have time to spend with Charlie & Marilyn . . . We picked our spot M 10 across from Charlie and Marilyn, set up camp, and put up our US flag with lights to mark our Spot.
Friday we went on a day hike . . . 3/4 mile to Bedham Falls . . . no problem! . . that turned out to be 6 miles when completed! . . . had a GREAT time with Charlie & Marilyn . . . got the creative juices flowing helping Marilyn bond with her new camera . . . Rowdy got an opportunity to get into the water and fetch . . . Oh, the hot tub later was sooooooo nice!
It was really nice to have time with Charlie & Marilyn, share meals, share creative crafts and tell stories . . .
Marilyn does awesome quilts with beading and has won several embroidery and quilting contests over the years. Connie shared her photography and card making using her photos . . . Jim & Charlie shared mechanical skills and told stories, even had a men's coffee morning! We shared recipes, patterns, photos, and more stories. One story we both have in common that Connie calls the "Lucy Moment" was when both couples had an occasion switching the electric blanket controls
Charlie & Marilyn are leaving early tomorrow morning heading for Salem then on to Seaside. We will miss their company but know that we are a phone call and/or e-mail away! Happy Trails to you Charlie & Marilyn!
Mickie and Randy called us tonight. We plan to get together Tuesday . . . We went to OTI with them way back in the '60s . . . It is Megan their daughter that we attended her wedding. More about that later.
