Horrocks Family Campsite

We left Kalbarri and continued to head South and arrived at a small town called Horrocks. There wasn't much in the guidebooks about Horrocks but on our original journey North up the coast we saw a sign stating "See paradise before it is lost" so we thought we had better check it out on the way back down....

We are glad we did call in as well....Horrocks was a beautiful small town on the coast, population only 300 (plus 2 today!) with a great little beach and jetty, definately a mini paradise, we didn't waste any time and headed into the sea to cool down!

We checked in at the only campsite in town which was close to the beach and cheap as chips only $17 for the night, bonus...one of our cheapest yet. The campsite was also was really welcoming in typical true Aussie fashion , within the first couple of hours we were befriended by the locals...one chap we met originated from England, had come to Oz 29 years ago on a ten day holiday and had been here ever since! We were coming across a lot of this on our journey, it was easy to see the attraction....

We were also befriended by an Aussie couple camping next door to us, who were test driving their shiny new caravan and 4x4......they gave us some great travel tips for the East coast of Oz and the Cairns area.

I also managed to get to try my new rod and reel again in the evening with a spot of surf casting from the beach. No joy on the fish front, but the sunset was a corker.....
