The Rising Sun campervan!!!

An exciting day...we picked up our Wicked 4x4 campervan that would be our new home for the next 4 weeks. We were relieved to see the paint job on it was rather tame...a rising sun with Japanese writing on the sides...what a relief as we'd seen some really rude and some obscene Wicked vans along the way...(turned out later our van wasn't so innocent but really can't print what it says!!! Let's just say it could really offend anyone who could read Japanese!!)

Drove out of Perth to a place called Coronation Bay that was recommended by Pete, someone we'd met in Bunbury. It was a sweet little campsite right on the beach but the place was absolutely teeming with flies going crazy!!! We had heard from several travellers tales that the flies could be bad up North in WA, but we were not ready for this! They went up your nose, in your ears and even got behind your sunnies!!! Crazy.... the flies are possessed!! We didn't even eat any dinner that night...managed half a cup of tea before the flies got into it and then hid in the van! Not a good start to our road trip but we were not to be put off!
